Two workers injured in a May 20 fire on a Chevron Corp. oil platform off the coast of Angola have died.
The workers had been receiving medical treatment in South Africa, according to Angola’s Petroleum and Minerals Ministry. The first died May 24, and the second succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.
The fire occurred while the platform was undergoing scheduled maintenance. A total of 17 people were injured. Authorities are working to recover a body spotted underwater near the platform, according to the ministry.
